I've posted before about looking after a black cob, who has had a recurrent abcess & been off work since last July. There was a bit of a bewildering car crash with the yard he was on, and I still don't understand why it went weird. He was sent back to his owner and I didn't see him at all for a v difficult 6 weeks.

I kept in touch with his owner and she has agreed to loan him to me. I can't tell you how excited I am - he is my first horse and I love the very bones of him.

Please bear with my noddy questions on streamlining a magnificently good doer, building fitness and returning to work after 10 months off...

And because everyone likes pics, this is him. Isn't he gorgeous!!

He is absolutely lovely. Congratulations on your loan! Don't worry about asking lots of questions, everyone has to learn (and we never stop learning!) and I hope you have a long and lovely loan with him.

Thank you v much for the congrats! :D

First ride today - lovely active walk and bouncy trot. Very much on the forehand - his head is also a little too magnificently-sized for his body so as a heavy pendulum will be adding to that issue. Lots of fun to be had though. He is super!
