YO relations reach a new and drastic low point - what to do?

Good luck for today, hope it all goes well.

Must say the Police idea is a very good one, the guy sounds unhinged

If hes out on parole from prison then hes broken the terms of his parole

Exactly. However I agree that the important thing is to get yourself and your horse as far away as possible from him and don't look back. You don't know what you could unleash if you challenge him further. I'm not for backing down from things as a rule, when someone has done something so clearly wrong but if it threatened the safety of all that is dear to me I would without a second thought.

By the time you read these posts hope that the move has gone well and that you are all safe and sound as far away from that individual as possible.

If you haven't already reported this to the police, please report it after you have moved so that it is on record. It could make a difference to how seriously future complaints against him are taken. It will also offer you some protection if you have any future issues with him.

Totally agree with the others who state notify the police and have them there while you move.

I really hope the move goes without any incidents of any kind

Let us know as soon as you can please that you are off that yard. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is worried for your safety and that of your horses

Yes using threats to obtain money is called blackmail. If he threatens you in such a way that you apprehend immediate personal violence that's assault. Would have to see a copy of contract to establish whether he can give you 24 hrs' notice to move. Not sure if landlord/tenant law will cover livestock.
