Yogi Breisner Lesson.

Yogi Breisner was giving a lesson to two jockey's at the British Racing School yesterday. I got asked if I would like to take one of my horses for one to ride and so I took Wolfie who has fallen twice on his two starts over fences. He is a good jumper for the most part although he can be very strong and also lose concentration especially when in the final stages of the race. After his two last runs he has lost some confidence and isn't really attacking th fences like he should be. Yogi was fantastic both with the riders and the horses. He didn't overface him and by the end of the 2 hours he was taking on his fences again and was generally a much happier horse. What I loved the most was his simple approach in explaining everything and giving the upmost confidence to both horse and rider. I came away a very happy trainer and it was brilliant to listen to Yogi's point of view's. He is such a genuinley lovey and knowledgable man

I was surprised that he made them ride up short as usually when schooling over poles you would ride long. It was all about the balance between horse and rider and everything he said made so much sense!

What great photos. Lesson sounds amazing - you lucky thing! Sounds like it was a really good experience for your lovely horse too.

Interesting - yes that does make sense - certainly sounds like it was a useful experience then

Thanks for posting that. Horse looks lovely. Would also like to kidnap the school and move it about 3 hours south. I go to the BRS from time to time perhaps I can bring a section home in the boot of my car each visit.

Thanks everyone! Yes I was very lucky to have been able to bring him and the school was HUGE! The horse has turned inside out in his few months of me having him. He was a nappy, miserable sod at first but he's a different horse now and I must admit I'm very fond of him. I'm a nervous wreck when he runs and I really hate watching anyone else ride him! Fingers crossed he can run next weekend so all of Yogi's lesson sticks in his head and he doesn't end up splat again!!
