A friend is looking at loaning a horse in that area (North-East to be precise), and is wondering what going rates are for loan and different types of livery. Anybody from around there who can give me a general idea?
 
the rate for the loan will be determined by the person loaning the horse out if not on free loan Livery prices £45 part (mon-fri) £70 full per week including worming programme

As for liveries, well not much idea really, would depend vastly on what type of liver (ie DIY/Full), could range from £20 to £100 (plus maybe) a week I guess. Basically, if I had to keep my horse on livery I wouldn't be able to afford it!

Does she want to keep it on grass livery in Leeds area, we can do it for a small fee....!

The dad isn't horsey, and wants to have an idea of what to expect price-wise...

How about leasing from a riding school?

I *think* we paid £25 - 30 a week DIY - which included hay and straw. This was a few years ago now mind. After that we paid £15, without hay/straw, which was a few pounds a (small square) bale.

Its pretty typical prices really- but if you can find a cheaper yard to go to (like, a non-main livery place, advertised ina tack shop or something) then you can drop the price significantly.
 
You don't say where you are, but:

Irton Riding Centre in Scarborough loan their horses/ponies for £18 a week (least I think thats what it was 5ish years ago) - you are in sole charge of mucking out/grooming, but they feed/haynets (sometimes), the horse also gets used to lessons - but this is rare outside of school holidays as it's not a busy school yard.
 
Were in Leeds and theres about 3 up for loan at the moment, Its roughly £30 a week give or take a few £ for worming, feed, etc.
 
Ref Livery, I am from Doncaster and pay £20 a week diy, plus £10 extra per week during winter for straw and hay.

Loaning is surely free in that you are taking full care of the horse put not paying out to purchase it? I pay for farrier, insurance and feed obviously so have the horse without the purchase.
 
round where i am (north sheffield/Barnsley) DIY ranges from £20-£35 p/w, grazing only can be anything from £10p/w upwards.
I used to loan my pony out for £50 p/w but i paid all the costs of livery, shoes, bedding, feed, insurance etc.
