I'm just north of Leeds and the snow has really come down this afternoon and still snowing now. Scary drive to and from yard this pm on main roads that were immediately covered in snow. And you always seem to get the mad idiot who wants to overtake despite the couple of inches of freezing snow on the road. Was very glad to get home!!
Supposedly -4C tonight, it was still -7C at 10am today. Don't like it!!

Where are you? I'm in Shadwell, and ditto the snow this aft - was not expecting that! Was -9 at 9am this morning.

I had someone tailgating me today, on a very snowy posh road where the people have parked their fancy cars on the road so they don't have trouble getting out of their drives - made the road into slalom course. I was going slowly as didn't want to hit an expensive car, and this dick (in a mini!) overtook me

I was going slow, but 20mph slow, not 2 mph

I'm south of york - been snowing all day but temps now up to a heady 0 degrees. Roads aren 't great but we are rural. Minus 11 last night but havent seen forecast for tonight!

The yard is near Harrogate so was on main A659, just awful. Haven't driven in driving snow like that for ages and was really quite scary, particularly when you have idiots driving too fast and pushing you to go faster

I'm in East Yorkshire. It was extremely cold this morning, then it snowed some more (about 5ins deep), then this afternoon there was sleet and freezing rain. Now it's windy and cold and wet. Who knows what tomorrow will be like.

im just east of york & we have around 4-5inches of snow & its freezing!! Could barely break the ice on the water buckets in the stables this morning, let alone the ones in the field! Ended up using an axe!!
Not looking forward to the drive to work in the morning, un-gritted rural roads :( Its now windy, with either rain or more snow coming down (not off out to check which! lol!)

I'm mid way between tadcaster and selby. It was -12 this morning! We currently have about 5 inches of snow, but the met office are forecasting heavy snow for most of tonight and tomorrow. Does anybody know what the weather/snow is like near Leeds bradford airport? My sister has a flight from there tomorrow morning, but if the weather there is anything like it is here i've a feeling flights may be cancelled!

I'm halfway between York and Scarborough. Its beem snowing since Wednesday and is probably about 4 inches. It was -14 this morning, brrrrr!
I live almost 2miles from a gritted/ploughed road, so my inlaws have been taking me to work in their 4x4. I'll be buggered if we get snow drifts as then the tractor won't even make it :/ Don't quite fancy walking 4 miles to work in the freezing cold!

Don't know what its like at the airport, but the snow on the ring road near there is not too bad, traffic still moving, and I think the snow has stopped there now :)

I'm in York - was pretty bad yesterday - but this afternoon got another 4 inches or so. And that's in the city, so hate to think what it is like at the yard. We brought in @ 2 & battened down the hatches :)

Got to go to London in the morning on a 6.30 train - dread to think how cold it's going to be when I go & do morning s tables at 5! :(

i am so glad i got up at 7 am this morning to drive 4 hours back to bristol, after visiting my granny. We did not want to get stranded in harrogate so drove all the way up there yesterday afternoon, and all the way back this morning in hope we would miss the snow. so so glad we did!

OH had to dig her car out of the snow so she could get to work in Pickering today...and my friends very nearly didn't make it up Thornton Dale hill :o

I'm about 20miles out of york towards scarborough and we have about 7 or 8inches and forecast for more. Don't know how cold its been as not been out in my car since weds night and dont have a temp thing anywhere else.

We've just been managing to get to the yard which is pretty much in the middle of no where in a very hilly area. But taking about 40mins to do 7ish miles.

Meant to be in college in york tomorrow but from what i've been hearing tonight about the snow there as well think i'll be staying home. Friends boyfriend has been out with someone in a gritter and said they've been stuck in that and advised her not to go in the morning.

We're north-east of York and it's not good. Drove from York to Leeds this morning for work and it was fine, drove back again at about 5-6pm and it was terrifying! The A64 and the A166 were freezing and slippy. Dreading trying to get to work tomorrow on the rural roads round us!

Awful here, in a village just outside Ripon Nr Harrogate, apparently all buses been suspended, also flights from Leeds/bradfors suspended and they both saying unlikely to be running tomorrow!

I'm inbetween Leeds and York and have been to work in Wetherby today. Made OH drive me as my car is small and old and doesn't do well!! It wasn't too bad this am- it was -11 at the yard (outside Tadcaster) and stayed liek that til lunch time!! The snow started at 2.30 in Wetherby and there was about 4''. Took us aggggges to get home, got a day off tomorrow but not looking forwards to attempting to get to the yard.

Not complaining though, we started selling Rock Salt on Tuesday, never sold it before, today we have sold 25 bags and are having to re-order tomorrow!!!

On the top of the pennines, near the border with the county we do not name :p and we have almost no snow! Mind you it was very cold this afternoon and couldn't take the horses out of the place (they were turned out) as the road is icy. Now only -3 so hope it is warming up a bit. Fed up of breaking ice on water buckets.

I need to get to Hull in morning, from the north, I generally go down the A19, then A1079 towards Bishop Burton/Market Weighton

Any idea if I'll get there or what the roads will be like?

I'm in Hull, no idea about the roads, but there is a lot of snow here and apparently we are forecast more! My friend said that most of the larger roads are navigable, although any quieter roads... not so much!
