Elderly JRT was off his food last night and this morning. Given his advanced age and the hot weather, I was starting to get concerned.

The cause of the lack of appetite became clear as he was outside this morning helping me with the usual equine duties. A large quantity of partially digested rabbit was deposited on the yard, bleughh (I’m not good at puke). I was too late to scoop it up in the poo picking barrow, though, as he tidied it up before I got to it. I did manage to remove it the next time it reappeared o_O.

He’s now looking bright and chirpy whilst I feel decidedly green.

I do love him, really. I think.

Ha ha my ex used to have screaming hysterics when the dogs did this - I just told him to ignore it, it made things a lot easier to clean up 🙄😂

My used to have hysterics at the ex having hysterics cos he never once picked/cleared it up as it 'made him feel sick' of course I relished the idea of clearing stinking warm dog vomit. So he would disturb the dog and I would then have to clear it up 😤

Oh god yes, with (in my case) 4 dogs then flapping around like eejits going ‘what’s the matter, what’s he wailing about’ whilst tramping through it happily....🤢

Some men deserve to be shot, my ex was definitely one of them....
 
Cats (and husbands) are not so obliging. In the past, I have returned home from work to be told that one of the cats had been sick. Indeed, they had - it was still there waiting for me.

If I had had a dog at that time I am sure matters would have been dealt with swiftly.

Yes mine was another one of them when it came to animals.

Oh I used to get 'the puppy had a crap in the kitchen ' and yes it would still be there but disguised like a stinking little trap under a single layer of newspaper as he 'could not stand looking at it!'.
He once did this when he was in the kitchen and a puppy crapped behind the door, the door opened from the hall into the kitchen, he then went to work via the back door, I had no way of knowing it was there till I opened the door and smeared it across the floor-oh that was a happy day of marriage 😂

........ and just to clarify Twiggy I meant the dog would deal with the cat vomit - not husband would clear up dog vomit.
 
Bruno likes to go and see all his friends in the workshops on our way up to the yard, which involves me poopicking Alfs paddock en route.
I followed him in one day last week, to find him bouncing up and down, trying to slip one of the mechanics a bit of tongue. I bellowed at him, and mechanic said "It's fine, I don't mind. At least he;'s a nice clean dog and you always know where he's been".
I wrestled for some time with the moral dilemma - whether to tell him that I did indeed know exactly where Bruno had been. In the paddock eating horse poo.
 
We were trying to persuade my brother in law that raw feeding was the way forward. He arrived just as Bear had eaten 2 pigeons, courtesy of my YO. Bear was a little over excited to see my bil and went up to him, vomiting 2 entire pigeons at his feet. He promptly ate them again. It's put off my bil, funnily.
 
Disclaimer - not a story for the faint or fluffy...or any sort of animal lover really...

I got some kittens...always have cats about the yard for pest control etc. This one kitten was a total idiot, thought he was gods gift. My general rule is if they can jump out of the stable door they can fend for themselves. This one had obviously jumped out and i seen his little arrogant arse waddle into the dog pen (what cat does that?!) then he ran for it with a tail of dogs behind him. I got him back and put him in the stable thinking he will have learned his lesson. About a week later i was riding in the indoor i also used for the dogs pen and during that my horse kicked up a little body minus head.
 
On the poo side, collected dogs from bloke who had them for yesterday, they had been in and out of his garden all day, no messing indoors. Spaniel pooed in the car on the trip home, less than 5 mins, trod it in. Then left a trail of diarrhoea through the house last night despite back door being left open. Spent an hour in the conservatory with the door to the garden open this morning , then when I wasnt looking she pooed on the carpet! She seems to revert to this behaviour when things are not as her usual days routine.

oh, my OH is very good at clearing up after his kids-we have a rule, I deal with dog accidents (barring vomit, which I turn a blind eye to Fitz clearing up for me) and he deals with kids. I cannot deal with human vomit.

yeah, expect the routine shift is a bit odd for them. did you have storms last night as well? We had a cracker apparently but I slept through it.
 
The little b00ger has found a source of more bunnies and he’s not letting on where it is, in case we spoil his fun.

One very full elderly JRT pictured this morning not long after being spotted wolfing down a bunny. He doesn’t seem to have brought it back up yet but I am keeping a wary eye on him. He is currently indoors looking very smug.

My spaniel seems to have reverted to her old dirty habits. She has started messing indoors again even though she has permanent access to the garden. It was chucking it down with rain this morning so she decided indoors was much better than out.I am finding her increasingly difficult to cope with while I am not well, she is very sensitive so is picking up on things but I really dont need poo and wee all over the house, she always wait till my back is turned before she does it .both dogs have had diarrhoea in the hot weather too.
