Its definitely not at the extreme as THAT post.

But I have a 15hh QHxNF mare, I'd say she is a medium weight and I dont think she ever struggles with me, well she has never seemed to show it.

Im 5ft5 and weigh around 10st... bit of a chubby :(

Too big??

Well I hope not as I'm expecting my 15.2 TB to carry my fat 11 stone ass when she's backed :p

Lovely pony and aren't QH and NF both meant to carry weight extremely well anyway?

No I don't think that would be to heavy. Full grown men ride QH and NF so cross of both breeds would bs fine. I'm 5'5" and I ride my 12.3hh and a half welsh sec c x Exmoor. I'm 8 and a half stone. :)

I don't know why  A 6hh miniature pony ridden by a 7 stone person is not comparable at all to a 15hh horse ridden by a 10 stone person.

Yup, by my math you'd have to be around 17 and a half stone on a 15hh to equate to that! Although I have heard that some chunkier horses can carry that proportion of weight to height...cobs, etc.

I wouldn't put anyone on a Shetland - they are obviously planning world domination and we should not anger them! Just look at their eyes...biding their time, I tell you!

I do love how people make facts up about others horses. He is just short of 9hh. Small none the less but stop being spiteful and get a frisking life.

PS this kind of thread was entirely what I was taking the mickey out of. I get so sick of seeing people post these crappy threads hence the (theoretically) humorous thread which was meant to be tongue in cheek.

I am 5ft 5inch and about 10 stone and certainly don't consider myself to be a bit of a chubby! I am a size 12 in clothes, the average is a 14 I believe. My mare is a 14.3 TB x (NF I think) and she has been ridden by people up to 12 stone with no problem.

She is rather lovely.

And since 2yo QHs often have to carry 14 stone+ men, I don't hink you have anything to worry about at all!

Thank you for calling my thread crappy. I was being serious as I really do love my horses far too much and the thought I could be unintentionally doing anything to hurt one would lead to a lot of loss sleep. Unlike you who seems happy to break your little pony's back and make a joke from it. There many posters with years and years of experience all telling you exactly the same thing and what you are doing is wrong. Its plain arrogant and I dread any of my ponies ever getting in the hands of people like you .

10st is actually normal weight for 5ft 5 so you are far from chubby!!

She looks fine for you, enjoy :D

My thought EXACTLY! How can 10 stone be *chubby* for someone 5'5in? Daaayummm, when I was first married I was running, lifting weights 5x a week and really fit 5'2in and 10 stone!
