Today I had to move my horse back to my old yard. I'd moved him on saturday to a private yard but unfortunately the other 3 horses just didn't like him and he's spent the last 3 days being traumatised and we honestly couldn't see it getting better, the mare was even attacking him over the stable door!!! So I decided to move him back for his safety and well being even though my old yard has it's faults at least he was happy there.

So because it was awful weather and the mile long track to the new place dangerous on foot let alone driving I said I'd walk him down to the nearest village meaning my friend didn't have to bring the lorry up single track lanes or hills that were slippy!! So walked the 3 miles to get him with one of my trusty mutts and then started the 3 miles leading the horse in hand with trusty mutt running behind. So we had the ice to contend with, then some farmer was breaking up rocks in a field making one hell of a racket, then it decided to side ways rain, then stupid here forgot it was bin day, then every other horse in the area decided to run around kicking up and shouting!!!! Coupled with idiot road users who don't know how to pass a horse being led and people slamming shut doors and windows...and FINALLY I get to my house where I was meeting them to get a phone call saying the lorry won't start!!!!! So he had to stand outside my little house, eating a hay bale from the back of my van in the middle of my little village for 2 hours waiting for the lorry to be mended!!!!!!!

And my horse...1 tiny spook and the rest of the time he was totally and utterly unfazed!! He enjoyed the attention from my neighbours and seemed to be facinated by the comings and goings of the village shop!!!!

I'm so utterly proud and so sorry that I put him through the 3 days of hell with evil ponies and the next person who dares sneer or look down their noses at my 'boring brown cob' will get a slap.

I love him and we'll rule the world me and him. :D

What a great guy! He does you proud. Cappy would have had a nervous breakdown. Hope he settles back in quickly.

Lol!! He got back to the yard, pushed his way out of his stable (luckily old stable was still empty!) and decided he was going out to his field!!! So he's out for the night and telling his mates about his adventures!!

What a horse coping with all that with hardly a sideways glance. "Boring brown cob" indeed - wonder if the cob snobs would have the same positive experience in those condition as you did? I think not somehow...

What a little star, bless him

Not a cob snob! But have a 6yr old WB that would have been just as good:p

I had to lead one of mine home last week down icy lanes and through frozen woods. It was quite a bonding experience - mine was also beautifully behaved even though he was quite stressed as he had just lost his field companion (laminitis :() and it was the only way I could get him home so he could be with his old herd.

We didn't have half of what you had to contend with though!
