Just browsing, and the amount of money some people are putting on these horses?
5500 for a horse that rears in various situations. Most are over 2K and cant be ridden/hacked/schooled etc.
WHY?

I thought the same thing when i looked on there,
you would have thought that it would be the place to advertise something cheap that someone would be willing to buy and take a gamble on, not more expensive than a sane rideable horse..................

Do you have the website link? Just want to have a lookie.

Maybe the popularity of the site is working against it in as much as there were once the horses on there going for next to nothing, now people know it gets more hits so try to get as much for their knackered nags as possible.

Its full of people with their heads in the clouds!! People must be seriously deluded/mad to honestly think that their horses are worth that much.
One person who put her horse up on there 2 years ago for a silly price has still not sold it 2 years later he has just been advertised again.- does it occur to her to drop the price? No! Madness.
Sorry but nearly all the horses that have been put on there have never been worth more than £1500 at the most!

just had a lookie at your ad, you have an honest to the point one, not a whole novel!! and no mention of wanting parrelli home either! realistic price too, maybe horsequest would be a better bet??

looking at project horses, i notice Trallwm farm have a lot of ads.

Have seen horses on various sites and wondered if anyone had experience of them and had a pony on loan from them? sorry, hijacking thread!

They are near me but I dont know an awful lot about them, sorry. But, I can make it my quest for the day if you want to me find out more

Oh go on, I like giving people a job to do!

Curious because, a lot of people come on here and ask about loaning horses but no one has ever recommended them....
They seem to have lots for loan...

It's run by a friend of mine Lady Leslie Cooper. We used to keep horses together in Hampshire before she moved to Wales. Lovely lady and totally dedicated to her horses, cows, pigs, dogs, geese etc, etc

indeed that is what I thought! We are selling/loaning our freddie (the ex pointer) but I decided against it (having sent the ad) as it was just silly prices and at our low price it would put people off and they would think he was not worth a thing!

Gone for Horsequest instead, should be on later.

For ponies go to www.pony4u.co.uk which goes live next week, all free and you can win a rug too! Must be 14.2 and under tho.

Lesley at Twallyn Farm is fab, my friend had a horse from her a few years ago and I cannot recommend them enough! - no nonsense, give her a call.

Have had him on Horsemart for a while, but just missed the deadline for last mag issue (which I find is when the phone really starts ringing).
Anyone any idea if it is out today - I can never get any sense out of them (have already had 2 free adverts off them due to being fed bullsh#t over the phone)?
Might try Horsequest, just puts me off that the site is such a bad design, hopefully the new site wont be long coming.

TBH the horse market the way it is at the moment, you can get a nice breed with nice confirmation and has been on the circuit doing something with no vices for a fraction of what those people are asking!

It makes you wonder why so many horses are 'project horses'. Why do people take on horses because they want a horse and then find they are overhorsed! The horse gets ruined and gets passed on. If only people bought horses within their capabilities then we wouldn't have so many problem horses!

Rant over.

It's funny a lot of them don't sound that "projecty" to me! Every horse has it's quirks, and as long as you make them clear on the advert I don't see why you wouldn't sell them from a normal site.

Maybe the prices would look less out of place there too.

Vicijp your horse looks lovely and that's a very clear advert!

I can't believe the prices on there. They have on that rears for £5.5k , but it is OK as it does not rear vertical! What planet are these people on. I nearly fainted at the prices!!

I saw a TB from my former trainer listed on there once...it was the most vicious brute and actually pinned a lad down in the stable. It was "removed" from the yard and then had been an RSPCA case a couple of years later. The woman claimed it was fine when she had him!

I bought my dressage horse 8 years ago for £450 and he wasn't worth that. He was a villain and everyone for miles around knew it. This particular project took 2 years before I got on board because he just did not want to do anything that smacked of co-operation. I stopped him from bolting on the lunge so he went to the other extreme of sitting down! He's now working at Advanced Medium. But I only bought him because I'd seen him move otherwise I would not have touched him because he was downright dangerous.
