my land owner just had his spare field cut for round hay bales.
ive got to pay £14 a bale. is that about right for hay? i know that round haylege is around £20

I think that sounds really good. Hay and Haylage going for silly prices round us due to local flooding. Expecting to pay an extra £5 a bale come winter.

get this if you think thats expensive, last year i had to have my hay from the farm i was at, £45 per bale!!!!

and the bloody sheep and cows broke the shed down to eat most of it and i still got charged!!!!!!

sometimes i look back and realise what a moron i was to put up with it!!!

he even tried to con me out of another £300 when i'd left, he said i'd calculated wrong and it was for 3 years ago!!!! just when exactly did he see the word sucker appear on my forehead!! haha!!!! told him not so politely to get stuffed!!!

thats ok then, he can be a funny bugger (old and cornish)!!! so i didn't know if he was ripping me off!!!

when they run out i'll go back to haylege as i think its nicer than hay. thanks guys xxx
