Went to my mums yesterday morning to get Badger ready for hunting - WTF, his legs were like tree trunks!!!! His legs never ever come up so very strange!!! I told mum and Caffreys were the same - the only thing she could think of was that she has changed hayledge supplier?

Anyway, got to the meet and mentioned it to a mate who is a farmer - first thing she said was have you changed hayledge?!

I think this is so strange!!! How does changing hayledge make horses have fat legs?? Is it just a period of adjustment or should we take them off it??

I've never heard of that!!

Would or could this be sawdust? or wood chipping? They used to bed my horse with this because of his collic problem when I left him at the 'yard...'

This too. The Americans(I am one but have been gone along time,) say "barn," the French 'club' as in club hypique and you guys say yard?

Just trying to improve my "English." As an American, I feel our 'language' is more of a dialect(especially listening to the BBC now, for some many years...)

Also saw, in a photo, someone riding on some "black sand" in the ir arena Never saw that before...weird

Hayledge also spelt Haylage is hay that hasn't been allowed to dry out as much as hay and is then wrapped in plastic to stop it going off. It is a dust free alternative to hay and also has higher protien levels than hay which can cause swollen legs.
