This morning, the sun shone on his last day.
My inlaws dog Charlie.
He was 1 month shy of turning 15. He has been going down hill health wise slowly for the past year, but as he still ate up and enjoyed his walks it hasn't been his time until today. Early this morning, he was found to have chewed his leg, no idea why. He had arthritis in his legs, maybe he collapsed during the night, and in fustration of being unable to get up?
He was carried carefully to the car for his last journey and even managed to stop at the field where he was carried out to do a wee. His coat was brushed gently and then he went on to the vets. Quickly and peacefully he went, with a gentle slow wag of his tail.

We will all miss him. Monkey of a dog. Never knew one quite so 'hyper'! His love for all dog toys, and even other male dogs (grr) were always probematic. He had the strength of an ox, and is the only dog to date that I have had my arms pulled out with.
He hated window cleaners, would always great you with a pee (nice!) and could never be trusted not to suddenly snap. You really did have to watch yourself with him.
He loved bath times, and equally loved being blown dry with the hair dryer! The ONLY time when he was still. He knew many tricks, roll over, 'hide', 'Speak' and beg to name a few. He certainly was clever. We saw him yesterday, he was clearly old but still managed to run off with one of his toys!

God bless Charlie, RIP big man.

Sorry to hear about your dog but I had to smile at some of Charlies foibles what a character, he had a long and happy life which we wish for all our dogs.

RIP Charlie.
