Poor horse? Why? He's protected from flies. I don't think colour is a problem as far as the horses are concerned, just the humans.

To be fair elsiecat I do agree. I've got some teal bandages for my lad, they look awful but he couldn't care less. 40 quid is very cheap, and as nothing really goes with chestnut except black or white, and as he doesn't care... Well, it's tempting. And it'd be a talking point with new people!

A woman on one yard I was at would have gone for this. She deliberately got all her everyday stuff (headcollar, ropes, rugs, etc) in the most lairy/vile colours possible so that 1) no-one would actually want to "borrow" her stuff and 2) if they did, it was pretty obvious whose stuff it was so they couldn't deny their guilt!

The bonus with this rug is that no one in their right mind would steal it. I also tend to get things in bright colours so I can see where they are if they've been borrowed - much to my boys embarrassment!!
