Potentially found a home for kenny. I knew I would probably have to sell kenny before I went to uni but was still holding out hope I could loan him out.

Just been in contact with a lady I know very well at a yard 5 mins from home. Her daughter has outgrown her pony and they Are looking for a stopgap until their foal (born this year) is old enough to be broken. Turns out they are looking for a long term loan, minimum 3 years which is absolutely perfect as my course is 3 years.

You think I'd be happy but I just can't stop bursting into tears! I was riding him today and ended up having to get off before I picked a fight with him (he wasn't doing anything wrong, just being lazy with the hot weather) don't know whats up with me :( :( :( :(

I'd probably be exactly the same in your situation tbh. But as you've said, they want a loan for the ideal amount of time for you - so although it sucks that someone else will "have" him, you'll have him back as soon as the pressure of uni is off :)

I'm sure you'll be able to visit him when you can, and at least you're not selling :)

Don't be so hard on yourself for how you're feeling - everything will work out fine, and once you've had more time to relax about the idea, you'll be feeling a lot better :)

When I went to uni (a long long time ago now!) I loaned out my mare. But we arranged it so that I still rode one weekend a month and had her part of the holidays. Just something to think about - you may be lucky enough to come to some sort of similar arrangement. Good luck. :) x

Hi love - just to say I know who you are taking about as I am at their yard and your boy would have the loveliest home with them. They take such good care of their horses and always had really good relations with people they loan from. I think change is always a bit unsettling and I totally understand but this sounds like a good soloution. :)

I know it seems so perfect, im almost not letting myself get too excited incase it doesnt happen! Just the thought of not seeing him everyday is so much harder than I ever thought!

That would be lovely, im sure they'd let me go and see him etc and with him being close by I'm bound to hear how he'd be getting on!

What a small world! I commented on one of your threads with photos of you on your grey and didnt even recognise your yard! My best friend and I used to ride there for years and she even had her horse there for a while! I know he would have an amazing home.

It is a small world - maybe we will get to meet for real at the Yorkshire meet if I can pluck up the courage to take Stanley along:)
