hi, me and my mum have been talking about a certain horse for a few months now, but we just don't know if he would be suitable for me. i am 14 and 5 ft 4 1/2 and have ridden/been around horses for 10 years and owning/sharing/excising horses for around 4 years so to be honest i think i have enough experience for the job, and this certain horse is a welsh section d around 15.2/3 hh and about 7 but hasnt been worked properly for around two years as our friend has had a baby and is a few weeks away from giving birth again. but before that he has jumped, hacked hunted ect but not really competed. my current 14.1h welsh defiantly acts like a welsh and so i am no stranger to the bread and know how to deal with them. I would really love the oppertunity to try and bring on this horse but he would be a lot of work and im worried that as he quite young and big i wouldnt be able to handle him, but saying that he was brought up very naturally and with experienced parelli training and his temperment is lovely he just needs to get back into it all again.

I am just wondering what you guys think and what you would do if you had a horse like that, but i know this horse very well and a few years ago before i got my pony i used to go bareback round the yard with him and in the stable with him all the time and he was so gentle with me. but he would only be a loan and im desperatly needing another horse as im outgrowing my pony but the only way of getting another horse is loaning one which we`re close to, as i would never get rid of my pony.
thanks for reading.:):);)

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If it is a loan then perhaps you could have him on loan/ trail for a while to see how you get on? Perhaps get your trainer involved from the start and between you, further down the line when you have ridden him a bit, decide between you if indeed you are right for each other. And lovely to read that your pony is staying with you x
