Thought id give an update on my young horse who was stopping when ridden and I wanted to know if I should keep going with my softly softly approach or get tough. Well, I followed my gut instinct and kept everything calm and quiet, and he is now happily trotting circles, popping a pole and has done his first canter out hacking, which was lovely. All he needed was for me to be more focussed and clearer in my aids. This weekend he hacked out and met a liming tractor (HUGE!!!) and all sorts of other scaries and he was a darling, leading the way for most of it. He's a little superstar and i couldnt be happier with him. Thanks for the advice from everyone.
