young horse with black front teeth

I have rescued a two and a half year old cob he has black teeth at the front surely they cant be rotten on such a young horse im think maybe its been caused by a kick or knock to the mouth if so what will be done will they just fall out or will they need to be taken if they need taking out will this be expensive im having the dentist look at him next week im just curious if anyone else has ever seen a young horse with black teeth. i have put a picture of his teeth here. thanks lucy[IMG

It's hard to say with those pics, but it could just be the natural shedding of baby teeth. The dentist would be able to tell you straight away.
Get him insured. If you are worried about any cost of any treatment in the future, then have insurance and pay the premium.
