i guys, i have a 2and half sec d youngerster she is great with lunging and walking out in all kind of traffic, she is about 14,2 now so i need 2 be putting on a saddle she has been bitted i just want 2 whot size i should be looking 2 buy, someting secondhand

If she 2 and a half how much lunging have you done with her?Without pictures of her difficult to pass any helpful comments!
Other than ask a saddler, because she only 2 and a half next spring she will have changed completely again, are you just wanting the saddle to get her used to wearing one?if yes dosnt really matter as long as it a resonable fit as there will be no weight load on it!

At 2.5 (same age as my cob) you won't be riding her for another year at least so buying a saddle now is pointless as it won't fit later.

I just use any old saddle for 'saddling' my baby. My ridden horses saddle is only slightly too narow but far too long. But since I'm not sitting in it it doesn't matter. He'll get a well fitted saddle once he's finshed growing (and therefore ready to ride).

The fact she's 'great to lunge' worries me. Lunging is really not good for their joints - in fact it's probably the worst kind of exercise you could give a baby

. Long-lining (in straight lines) is a much better way to introduce them to the idea of work etc.

if she is 2 and a bit then chuck her in a field and forget about working or lunging her for the next year! just bring in to feed and do feet and general manners, and let her grow and fill out and mature in her own time! Her bones and joints are still growing and forming and working too soon especially on a cirlcle will lead to problems later on in life! she wont stop growing til she is about 5 or more! whats the rush?
