Bog has been in for 2 days to let his field recover from rain a bit. He's also had 2 bute a day for 3 days after he jumped out of field on Sunday to join the herded horses...
He was fine exercising Tues & Weds but I rode today and he was such a lary idiot. I'm trying to figure out why - the dog came along today which she hasn't done all week. He knew where we were going we canter. A different numnah. The bute. He pissed off me with across a field and seriously pissed off with me. We didn't have any bucking today but he really was very wound up. I wonder whether it was to do with the dog - she always runs off chasing stuff and he seems to want to rush off with her.
He was just so keen this morning and wouldn't walk, would go sideways, head in the air. Being pissed of with I think is to do with no mouth due to bute and just riding in a snaffle with no flash.
Bute was for a bit of bruising on front leg after jumping out. He had his last one last night.
I am going to take him up the gallops tomorrow morning without the dog and see how he behaves them. Otherwise I have serious concerns about hunting on Sat!!
He was supposed to be sorted after feed cut right down, different saddle, teeth checked, back done. And he was fine Tues & Weds - just today acting like a complete twat. I was so relieved to get back to the yard in one piece!
