Hi, I have recently broken my youngster in. When I got him he was naughty and unhappy, he's now a mostly well behaved happy chappy. His breaking, after 6 months of ground work, has gone fabulous. I hack out mostly and school on hacks, he hacks alone or in company well. However, it was his third time in the school tonight under saddle and he naps towards the gate, we argued and I won after plenty of bucks and took him a walk out to cool down after. His teeth, back and saddle have been checked. I know why he does it, he ha the attention span of a goldfish, iv broken him in to hack, lightly school and do the odd fun ride before giving him winter off and bringing him onto the show circuit under saddle next year. Does anyone have any exercises I can do with him to keep him engaged and interested? He's not ridden daily, I like to vary it but need some schooling exercises.
