Ive noticed tonight when i went to feed my gang that my youngster is lame on his near fore. Hes also been resting his offside hind. After a few strides of trot the lameness seems to wear off. There's no obvious lumps or bumps on him and there was nothing in his feet when i picked them out. There are also no obvious signs of laminitis. The vet is due on Weds for his jabs and at the minute he doesnt seem in pain at the mo, hes just moseying round as normal. What i wondered was is it best to bring him in or leave him out? I have a few sachets of danilon in if he needs them.

You don't say how young your youngster is, but I personally wouldn't worry too much. My youngster used to occasionally (every couple of months or so) go lame and then be sound again after a few days. Youngsters have a good nack of galloping around and pulling a muscle somewhere and you usually find they will be sound again after a few days of taking it easy. I would keep an eye on him and if he gets worse, ask the vet to look at him on Wednesday.
