I’ve recently bought a 2 year old who is a saint in all ways but just hates having his feet picked up. Does anyone have any advice on how to get him used to this or be more comfortable with having his legs handled . Thank you

I have seen people use a broom stick with a glove on the end. The idea being you can stand at head, in a safe place and use the handle to touch the legs. Keep repeating until horse is settled then start with your hand.

Has he had a farrier since you bought him? Mine became a complete saint after the first session with the farrier. Seems that having your feet picked out is all of a sudden really easy! Otherwise, just daily running your hands down his legs, asking for even the smallest cooperation, big pats, rinse and repeat. It will come, just takes repetition and lots of praise.
