We got a new horse in the yard a few days ago. He's technically 3yo but his bday isn't until May and as I went to give him his breakfast this morning out of the feed sack the daft begger was petrified of the bag lol! I held it out for him to sniff and both times he touched e he ran to the back of his box snorting, eyes wide.

Stupid phone!!!

So yeah, he didnt like the feed bag - your generic Baileys paper bag.

An hour later he is stood like a rock to get his first ever clip. Go figure!?! He can stand for loud, vibrating, ticklish things with cables but a simple paper sack that holds his favourite thing in the world? Thats uber scary! Hehe!

You've got to love youngsters!

I don't think it stops with youngsters either - my last TB would have been exactly the same with the feed sack - he was terrified of any bag and even a crisp bag would mean spinning and backing up down the road. But the biggest milk tanker in the world could have gone past him at full speed on a hack and he wouldn't bat an eyelid - in fact he had been known to almost walk into them he was so not bothered about them. So lorries and tankers no problem - crisp bag, total meltdown.....

They do make me laugh. When my lad was shod (before we decided barefoot) he used to stand like a rock for the clipping, filing everything of his feet, but when the shoes went to get burned on he would freak at the sound and sight if the smoke! Knowing this we thought he might be a b*gger to clip so were all prepared with a twitch etc and.... He fell asleep.

Blooming nags!

Haha, sounds like Ziggy!

Not a youngster anymore (coming up to 6 or 7!)
You can walk him past anything, he'll take a 6yr old over a course of jumps safely and hunts like a pro.
However...one day there was a bit of mud where there wasn't mud before. He planted and another horse had to lead him over haha!! No logic with horses.

Yep. Quad bike zooming past.. No bother. Land rover rattling by.. Aaaarrrgggghhhhh!!!!

God forbid the tractor (which is seen on a regular basis, many times daily) starts up... But cow cake delivery no problem.

There is no rhyme or reason with youngsters... :D
