Hiya!

Does anyone know of any youngstock livery available in South Wales? The closer to Newport the better but depending on the arrangement further away would be ok. Or even local studs that have some extra ground that wouldnt mind an additional youngster?

Looking for somewhere for a yearling to grow up ideally living out in a small heard with some other youngsters with maybe the option of a barn if the weather was really awful. Somewhere it would be checked daily at least by the owner & I could visit regularly :)

Currently have my horse on a fab livery yard but think putting a yearling on DIY with overnight stabling over winter wouldnt be fair - so would like it to have a bit of fun time playing & growing up with some others :) Would move him there as a rising 3 year old ideally.

Any help or pointers would be fab! Thank you!

It's many years since I was in that area, but we used Isca Livery Stables, just outside Caerleon (which is very near Newport). At that time, it was a very well run place, plenty of grazing, bridleways, indoor school ... It is still there as far as i know . (Have googled them).

Hiya,

Thank you :) I know the yard well - had my horse there from a yearling until 2 years ago (when he was 6) but found it rather tough going with only alternate day turnout over winter so he'd be bouncing off the walls lol. Still close to there now but at another yard :) Where I am now does grass livery but again winter conditions arent ideal really for a foal :/ Its tough!
