After reading up advice about jumping problems and canter a couple of days ago, and your advice to me personally on the subject, I decided to go and have another go. I went to Weston Lawns and walked the course and remembered what a few of you have said about this when I asked a few days ago. I found that I could remember the course easier and I concentrated. I entered the 85cm unafilliated and after a sticky start, being a 1/2 stride at fence 2 and then 7 strides through a 5 stride related distance, I decided that my canter wasn`t big enough and moved her forward a little. We got a clear round and we won. We received £10. Then I entered the British Novice and decided to just ride her forward as the fences were coming to us better, and we were getting 5 strides through the 5 strides RD and then one good stride through a 1njs double, instead of 1 1/2 through a 1njs double. I know it sounds silly but she is 16.3hh and is big with it but we were getting this a lot of the time!

Guess what, we won the class.

We were over 3 seconds faster than the 2nd place without cutting any corners. We won £35 for that class. I was beaming.
So I would just like to say to the peeps that have been helping me on here, THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE. It`s great to have you all here to help.

Well Done, If you can do it at Weston Lawns you can do it anywhere. They've spent a fortune there creating more arenas & holding Grand Prix in their huge new arena. You've obviously coped well with the atmosphere & no doubt it has boosted your confidence. Keep it up.
