After reading and seeing the pictures on PG of a three year anniversary made me wonder how long have you had your horses????

My mare in my siggy was only supposed to stay two years as my first horse before selling on but she turned out to be too good.
So 8 years on i still have her! Now ex-grade B and looking for our first BD points this year!

Soooo............................ who else!

i have had Buster 2 years, 7 months, 20 days, 12 hours and 42 minutes ... not that im counting!

I have had my fabulous pony Ali for 16years, just past in May, he is the light of my life and has taught me lots. I had Rabbiedan for 4 years after taking him on as a summer project and I also had Risky who was my TB eventer - who would have been a lifer but I regretably sold as I went back to uni to do a postgraduate and didn't feel I could keep him at the fitness levels I would need for eventing with a 4 year degree course squashed into 1 year!

(I'll go find a piccie and put it on)

Rabbiedan - my summer project who stayed for 4 years (ex champion trotter now dressage horse) - only now do I see how far to big I was for him!

Ive had my boy since he was just a twinkle in his mothers eye. I was the first human that he clapped eyes on and I intend to be the last. I love this horse to bits and he has never let me down.Only wish I could find another like him.

Bought Henry as a second pony, completely un-ideal, still not an ideal 2nd pony NOW! He was the first one we went to see, we knew he was 6, had NEVER been ridden or even looked after properly (of course he was fed and everything) by just looking at him! When we first got him I was scared stiff of him and didnt get a proper bond with him until after our first year together after having him trained and everything. We have been the best of friends since then, and as much I want to sell him and get something bigger I can't part from him after 7 YEARS on the 23rd of January!

And what's more, he still scares the pants off me when he bolts at least once a week

He's my best friend, and no matter WHAT money problems I have or my parents, I know he will be in my life forever

Lady Gascoyne who I've had since the 4th of Feb 2006 after she was retired from racing. I met by chance whilst looking at another horse at the same yard. She was galloping around the paddock, lashing out at the fences, rearing and charging anyone who came near her. It was love at first sight.

I've had Harley, in my siggy, since 19 June 1997, so just over 11 years. He's 16 now, and still isn't that interested in humans, he's the last of our lot to approach us, and the first to wander off. He means the world to me though, he is my first pony, I was 28 when I got him!

We bred a foal last year, we (OH and me) are the first humans she ever saw, and for a worrying few minutes, she bonded to me instead of her mother (as her mother was trying to kill her, I could see her point, I was much nicer!). The plan is to keep her forever, so long as I can ride her - I know my limitations! She is a real people pony - OH doesn't like being on here too much, but I can't resist the photo, she's 13 months old in this one! (PS her back legs aren't really that straight - she's stretching!)

I bought merlin on th 19th June 2004... My 11th wedding anniversary!!

Due to his fetlock, I will never part with him..... Knowing my luck he will probably live to be 50 and I will go bankrupt paying for him to hop around the field

Thankfully he is sound and well at the moment and really is a horse of a lifetime for me (very limited ambitions)

I bought the 3 yr old when she was six months, have recently bought a foal who comes home when weaned, have a dressage mare that I've had for almost a year and a Section B who has also been with us almost a year. Also have a shetland who has been out on loan for the last 14 years!
