Hi all!

I want to buy a pair of riding gloves for a friend for Christmas. For myself, I normally spend around £15-£20 but was thinking of spending more like £20-£40. They must be black or brown, smart and suitable for competing (dressage/eventing). Do any of you have any super ones to recommend?
She's had a tough year with her horses but has still found time to help me out so I want to get her something a bit special.

Many thanks and Merry Christmas :)

- Lindsay.

Thank you very much for the speedy replies. I was a little put off by Roeckls as I've had 2 pairs (albeit the cheaper ones) and although I loved the material to begin with it fell apart really quickly. Are the Chesters are bit more hard wearing? And grippy enough for XC? I have just googled the Chesters and I have to say, I love the look of the two tone black/brown. Well within budget too which is a bonus!

I've bought some Chester Jeffries gloves for dressage comps. They are really nice. Alas no good for you as slightly over budget, and 4-6 weeks delivery. What I liked was that I could choose what colour I wanted from loads, so I got a colour I liked, but that are still suitable for dressage competitions.

I vote SSGs last me for a good hunt season and that's hunting all day about 3 days a fortnight, where the only gloves that could survive more than 2 days with my old pony as she was strong. Have a look for their hybrid ones, leather back but their aqua suede material palm, so look really smart IMO, if shop around can find them at your price range.

I have had rockeis macwets and sealskins
Sealskins are warmest but not v smart
Macwets did not last at all I sent them back to the shop twice they just aren't up to the job
Rockeis are fab
