I'm very bored and a bit of a closet tack nerd, as well as being very nosey :o.

So what items are next on your 'to buy' list for your horse(s)? Or what do you really want but probably can't justify? Or what have you just purchased and are waiting to arrive?

Disclaimer: I currently can't ride much so I have a lot of time to waste shopping ;).

I'm currently waiting for:
- Le Mieux X-grip EJ in peacock [Link]
- Seaver girth sleeve [Link] - this is super cool and I can't wait for it to turn up so I can try it! It has sensors in it as well as a heart rate monitor and links to a phone app to give a ridiculous amount of data. It has the ability to show any asymmetry at the trot! And report jump bascules and stats! Like I said, nerd :o. I got a very good deal on it or wouldn't have bought it :rolleyes3:.
- Bombers Happy Tongue Eggbutt [Link]

Next purchase:
- MW turnout, probably the Shires one with the cow print.
- Haygain Forager [Link]
- Rear hoof boots, probably another pair of Swiss Galoppers to match the fronts but I'll have to measure up first.
- Some lessons if horse and I can get fit enough without me breaking even more!

Want but cannot justify:
- Samshield helmet in navy and gold [Link] (I have 0 taste)
- Cavallo riding boots in black [Link]
- Haas brushes
- Basically all of the Horse Health prokit luggage!

I'm hoping someone will come along and make me feel better about my shopping habits :p.

Two weeks ago I got one of the new Fairfax breastplates I needed it , I did ...honest .
It’s a lovely thing beautifully thought through .

I want the back on track stable boots.
Need some new everyday riding boots... a nice brown pair like my de niros that have just died. And some ariat paddock boots...
And some of those riding tights (have ordered some cheap robinsons copies of jodphur boots and riding tights).
Always wanted thermatex, cooler and travel rugs, in several sizes so all horses can match at a show.
Wouldnt mind a new show jacket (or be less fat so my animo one would fit better, however kind of want a different shade of navy)
Oh, a new dressage saddle would be nice.
That girth sleeve sounds interesting...

Just bought...
Curved girth, very curved, it makes her girth lay in the right place but cost £130 bespoke :o
New Griffin Nuumed full wool numnah but without the collars as I think they mean the numnah has to be huge.

Paid for but not yet arrived...
Ariat Bromonts. I do have some in good condition, but I am now in my 50s and my feet seem to have spread.
New phone with better camera to capture our adventures.

On wish list...
Winter rugs.

This confession is just to make you feel better OP (and hope you feel better enough to ride again soon!).
Just bought:
PS of Sweden bridle
Waiting to arrive:
Browband and reins for the bridle
New Black bromonts (to compete in - sadly the compass didn’t fit so bromonts it is)
Trying not to buy:
New show jacket (need to lose weight so current one fits better!)
If money was no object:
A nice wee box (or a refurb of current trailer)

In the last few months I have bought ( mostly second hand but pretty much as new)

air jacket, 2 x sweet itch udder covers, snuggy sweet itch head ( new ), snuggy turnout head, snuggy turnout head and neck combined, hacking jacket, saddle, schooling whip, hi vis long sleeve wicking top ( new ), 2 x fly veils ( new ), acavallo seat saver and a Weatherbeeta outdoor rug with neck

but I have also sold

2 x saddles, 2 x breastplates, outdoor rug, a bit, 7 x girths, seat saver, 2 x fly masks and a pair of spurs

I am waiting for the lottery win so I can buy a “ new ” lorry as mine is rather old.

P.S. I am actually still in profit!

Well leaving aside the house with land and stables to bring the devils home...

I'm waiting on a new pair of wellies because I'm that rock and roll, and I'm anticipating a depressing winter :rolleyes3:

I need to order:

A new rug for the mare. I'm interested in the combo system on Kramer, but can't find the actual rug they zip into :rolleyes3: I could do with a rain sheet and something heavier, and I fancy a fleece lined one. And I'm quite fussy :p

I need a new hat, I'll probably do a straight update to a new ProII. Maybe I'll go wild and buy a navy one this time...

A couple of hay ball things for the ponies for winter, a winter's worth of haylage and straw, and my clippers need fixed if that counts too :p

And I can't really justify:

A pair of swiss gallopers for Dae, who lost a renegade and I can't find the damn thing.

Some nice water repellent, fleece lined breeches for winter

A new saddle M2M for the mare (I will justify this one sooner or later!)

A nice bridle for the mare (mostly I can't find one I really want for her :/ )

A ridiculous fly rug for the mare (https://www.kramer.co.uk/Horse/Hors...lly-Pad?depvar_index=<422102><422102..6_0.GR>)

Rubber mats for all their stables

I'd also like a series of gridwork and jumping lessons with a decent trainer and decent fences (the former is the main issue round here!), and I'd like to do some jumpX training too. Some insanely expensive flatwork lessons would be nice too, and lots of fun outings here and there (which really just requires friends and effort rather than money :/ )

JFT, you have reminded me, a course of lessons both flat and jumping suitable for my advanced years and my novice horse would be very nice indeed.

It would be even better if a “ beam me up Scottie “ way of transporting there was devised.

I've just ordered a pair of safety boots, due to an unpleasant incident with my horse's hoof:rolleyes3:

I also got a good bargain on a pack of 3 sparkly browbands. I shouldn't have bothered because bling doesn't suit him, but one was pink which he does look good in, so I couldn't resist :cool4:

I also want a saddle pad in a nice bright colour :rolleyes4:

Thanks all, I'm feeling much better about my spending habits now! Photos would be good though ;).

I'd like to go shopping, but currently nowt to ride, so cannot warrant it sadly....

Stuff for you? Hat, boots, gloves, breeches, etc. Or wine. Or gin!

GS - What's your first impression of the breastplate? I'm interested in the research that went into it and would like to see how they do long term.
DB - If you're near Swansea I'm happy to bring the girth sleeve to you to try out when it arrives :). There's a smaller version made by another company that just clips onto girth straps but it doesn't do HR monitoring.
Red - Lucky horse! What phone? I've been thinking of an iPhone X but my 6 has had ten screens in 2 years so I don't think the X would last very long :o.
McF - Oooh, what bridle? I've been eyeing up the HvE for a long time but just can't justify £320! I'm keeping an eye out for one second hand....
ihw - oops...! Hope Valley have some white Kingslands in the sale :).
Meredith - I am impressed that you're still in profit! A lottery win would be nice :p.
JFTD - There's a severe lack of decent instruction down here too - I feel your pain! If it's any help the Swiss Galoppers are fantastic and I'm sure Dae would appreciate them. And that fly rug is fabulous! For waterproof breeches I've yet to find anything that can beat the Kipwarm ones from Decathlon (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/kipwarm-warm-jodhpurs-brown-id_8392668.html). Unfortunately they've doubled the price and they're only available in brown now :(.
mule - I hope the safety boots arrive soon and your foot is OK! I think the new Eskadron collection is out soon if you want something bright ;).

I have just bought a solo rake.

On my wish list is either a Hay Play or some sort of forage feeder to slow down my greedy mare.
However, I really need some new rubber matting, so that may have to come first. I have been looking at Abacus Mats but wonder if they are very good for the price?

Well I do actually need a winter coat. Got to be long enough to cover my bum because current one doesn't and seems to channel rain down into the top of my trousers.

Still haven't paid for pony's new saddle and she's back on 3 legs again so she's not getting anything else just yet!! Just followed the link to those girths - wondering if they'd do a better job telling me why my horse is wonky than the vets......

I need to get a large wheelbarrow for transporting hay. I haven’t ordered yet as I’m not sure how big to go. It’s one time when I’d like to see it before I buy but my local shops only have standard sized ones.

I also want a new girth and a new hat. I’m currently barely riding so can’t really justify them yet.

Thanks all, I'm feeling much better about my spending habits now! Photos would be good though ;).

.

Hi, My phone before last did me 4 years, was a Samsung 6, after 4 years the on/off button was a bit wobbly or I would still have it now. Last phone was a Samsung 7, had 2 years, photos/video a lot better than the 6, so I am glad I changed it. But, it has not been a durable, it drops internet connection, in fact I had to send it back, it is apparently a known fault.

I am a reluctant upgrader, but found the Huawei P20pro, a friend recommended it although I have never heard of Huawei. The photos and video are the best in all phones, I think. Apparently each photo is an AI conglomeration of 3 lenses that take a photo at the same time. One of them is black and white, and adds detail. If you call them and tell them how disappointed you were in your old phone, and that you never wanted to change they give a great discount ;-) Plus you get wire free earbuds to do dressage with (current special offer) :-)

BTW, I have never yet broken a screen, even though I drop my phone practically daily (including off the back of a horse!). I use the leather wallet type phone cases, around £12 on Amazon. The corners are all plastic protected, the screen I have a heavy duty protector on, plus if I drop it on the screen there is a leather/card front with a few £10 notes folded in, and my bank cards to cushion the blow..

I’m a shocker for buying horse stuff. Rearely get new clothes for myself but horses have bags of kit.

Went to ingatesone yesterday and bought some stuff that was planned, and some stuff that wasn’t! Got a replacement hat (didn’t realise how expensive they are), some bits and bobs, and a new sky blue woof wear matchy set (not had woof wear pads before). Only the bits n bobs were planned and they would have been about £20 on their own. Oops.

That’s all I need for now but very soon I will think of other stuff I’m sure. Oh yes, also got another set of noble outfitters riding tights and equtech tights. Really like them both. Hmm that explains my bank balance...

And, very exciting but impatient for this now, am waiting on my new box from Freddie Gover. Just in time for winter when F will get it filthy and I’ll get it covered in Imud from parking in random places as I’m planning to take him hunting more this year. Boo for dirty box but yayayayayay for hunting.

Ok, that girth looks amazing, and would really help as heartrate is quite key for me, plus speed and asymmetry knowledge would be great!
I would love a new saddle, and have been coveting a wow for a while, my mare is still ridden in her full tree racing saddle, which has been bought long after I stopped racing her because I have short legs and ride very short!
I could also do with some new gear for me, as its all a bit tatty, and a new bridle with some shorter reins!

At the moment it's just a wish-list, starting salary in the charitable sector straight out of uni, plus vet bills doesn't exactly equal much shopping beyond the window variety!

Practically I need;
- New yard boots, mine are literally falling apart at the seams, which was tolerable during the heatwave but after fencing in the rain I was left with very soggy socks - not improving on the mood that was caused by having to sort fencing in the rain at 9am on a Sunday morning!
- Hi-viz exercise sheet
- A new rug box that D won't put his foot through
- A load of lessons

The dream list of things for when I win the lottery -

- A new saddle would be nice, a lovely custom GP with room for my leg (although might wait till he's 10)
- LeMieux heritage pad to go with my lovely new saddle
- A brand spanking new 7.5 tonne lorry (will settle for second-hand :P ) and lessons on how to drive it
- A 17hh + hunter type for my OH to hack out on (and me to school ) to go in my lovely new lorry
- A million and one clinics and lessons!

DF the girth sleeve sounds amazing
Mule- you are cruel making your horse wear pink sparkles!
McFluff I’m a bit slow this morning and thought a wee box was done sort of chemical toilet

I’ve just bought a pair of Amerigo notched reins
https://www.redpostequestrian.co.uk/148901/products/amerigo-vespucci-hand-grip-reins--black.aspx
and macwet gloves
https://www.saddlery.biz/macwet-aqu...MI-IfRqczp3AIVDbTtCh2D7Q7iEAQYAyABEgKjdPD_BwE
due to my rein slipping issues. Pleased with them though the reins were pricey.
I’m trialing some NS bits for horse who ignores my requests to not tank off jumping.
I’m also having lessons once and sometimes twice a week to try and persuade said horse to not tank off with me.....
Potential purchase is some Eva mats

Dublin cool it riding tights. I haven't ridden in them yet but despite being over 14 (Cortez) they look OK and are very comfortable. No VPL, reduced muffin top and they fit my rather skinny legs and bum. I bought the grey ones and they are not too shiny and tbh would pass for well fitting breeches. If they don't slip down when I'm riding I might be a convert

I would give my right arm for a stunning pair of boots from Joshua Jones. I mean who wouldn't. I KNOW I would ride so much better. No really. (??) Sadly, I don't think i ever get a pair as I'm the worlds worst yo yo dieter so I have to stick with my Mountain Horse boots with stretchy panel.

I don't really want anything, trying to sell some things I don't need.
But I think I'll be needing some new stirrup leathers soon as I've grown and they only just fit me now. Would like some rubber matts for the stables so things are easier over winter, but they're so expensive :(

Arguably Diva could use a non full cheek version of her bit as well as neither of us really like it but I'm procrastinating about it a bit because I want to wait until I've sold some other stuff so I can afford to pay my parents the petrol costs to go to a big tack shop with more choice.

ive had a couple of good buys lately. I bought some new breeches, they where half price and I can honestly say they are the nicest ones ive ever worn. I also bought some new show ones too which where in the sale as well. ( last ones I bought where over 12 years ago so don't feel too bad for that )

My wish list is to upgrade my wash bay. Id like a solarium in it, and new higher powered shower. With shelves at the back, and a couple of posts to cross tie. I cant decide if I want rubber matting or not in the stables, and up the walkway. A matching combination of a 7.5 and 3.5 t horse boxes. Some XC fences .

My next purchase, I think will be putting the new roof on my stables . I have all the bits and pieces, just need to save a few pennies to get someone to put them on.

Just bought a new saddle so my shopping is somewhat limited until payday! Only 10 days to go, the withdrawal symptoms are tough.

Just bought: a new saddle, a full cheek snaffle, a harness, some battery operated small clippers and a carriage.
Would love to buy: some diamanté pink brushing boots I saw which would match my new driving pads perfectly.
Just made: a set of two hot pink driving pads with matching girth sleeve and noseband cover.
