Anyone enter the Your Horse 'win a horsebox' competition and receive a courtesy call asking to take subscription for the magazine?
Wasn't sure if it was a scam or not..?

Almost any competition will be a marketing ploy for companies to increase the size of their database and their number of customers. Your Horse wouldn't buy a horsebox to give away if they weren't getting something out of it!

Read the T&Cs when you enter a competition and tick/untick the boxes if you don't want them to contact you.

Just ask to be removed from their lists if they call or email you again.

I had the same thing a few months back, saying I was in the running to win a comp (that I don't remember entering lol) and that they'd offer me a reduced subscription, they just needed my bank details...I told them to ring back tomorrow, they didn't lol.

It's not a scam....they're just trying to get you to subscribe that's all.
They rang me, but asked for OH...I've been naughty and entered twice but put OHs name down.
I already subscribe, so the bloke just said that's great, good luck with the competition. I jokingly told him off cos I thought he was ringing to tell me I'd won:)

Yes i got the call, and i wanted to subscribe for a while now but never got round to it, and it was a good offer so i did subscribe. And i got my first copy last week :)

Did a survey for H&H a while back and they rang offering cheap subscription, apparently as a reward for everyone who filled it in for them. I was very happy to let it keep rolling (especially as it went to my home address and mum always stuck a tenner in...sometimes she only had a £20 note :D) until I had a mega skint period and the payment bounced :p
