Really Really annoyed about it.

The website advertised Friday's entry as £15 on the door (£14 pre paid ) - This was NOT a web price this was the actual door price to get in.
You get there and they were charging £18?
I've just checked the webiste and they've cunningly changed it to £18?

I think that to charge £19.50 over the weekend was a little cheeky, especially as people were going there to shop and spend even more money! The demos were very good but not everybody could get in at times on Saturday and that seemed a bit harsh! I thought that it would be better if they charged say £8 to get in with a charge to go and see the demos if you wanted to - but then again, I am old enough to remember when entry was a fiver

I too remember when it was £5 to get in SirenaXVI!!

Yes granted it has come a long way since when it very 1st started but the entry fee is being just plain greedy.

I cant get over how they advertised it at a cheaper price then charged more once your there. It's discusting.

We took advantage of their buy 2 tickets get 3rd free for both the day & evening performance, only to find the free ticket was'nt for the day it was for the evening performance only so my poor friend (who's skint) ended up paying £18 anyway?

God! That's awful! I used to really look forward to it when it was The Equine Event, it has just gone downhill over the last couple of years and now it appears to be a bit of a money spinner for Your Horse

maybe they should rename it Take Yer Money Live!

Well I feel that strongly about it that I've just sent them an email.

I have suggested to them that they donate their extra £3 per head profit to a charity and make a public apology to all the people they've ripped off.

Bring back "The Equine Event" that's what I say!

If Your Horse Magazine wanted to jump on the band wagon they should of started their own show - not hijacked something that was ticking over nicely at affordable prices.

suggest you talk to trading standards

if you goto www.archive.org and enter the URL then the wayback machine will show (if they haven't been clever enough to block their webarchive) the old site with the old price on it

if you can get that then you can prove price hike which I think is illegal

they'd then have to refund the £3 to all the attendees - a bit like the beeb having to refund telephone call fees to people when the phone lines had closed for tv shows but they didn't tell pepole

I've just found this on "ticket factory" - wonder if this would help?

I spoke to a saddler who goes to most of the events to do business......he has a well known saddlery on line. He says that he goes there because he needs to keep his company name on show but by the time he's paid for the stall, staff etc, plus the amount of stuff he gets stolen by the crowds he just about breaks even, at some shows he's even lost money.

Your Horse Live are getting greedy, like so many events, & if they aren't careful they will destroy the show by making it too expensive for the traders to attend.

The cost of stands is getting really high. Its a shame because it used to be good value when we first started going there and you could make a profit. Now you have to work for a couple of days just to break even!

I remember the Equine Events also.Seem to remember buying a horse from the auction they used to have.Dont think I would go now, even if I could, the prices seem to be excessive and complicated, and thats before you've started shopping.Interested to hear all your comments though.

if you type your horse live tickets into google and click on the cached result it brings up page as it was on the 29th October - fri shows as £14!!

In defence, insurance prices are so high nowadays you have to cover for that!!

Thankfully as I was riding on the Saturday I had exhibitors passes, which got me in on the friday to do all my shopping, they also sent me two free tickets for fridays evening performance. Though I still was going to go, however, I thought it was £15 on the door till I got there!!! Its a lot of money.

I was a bit miffed about it as well, especially as they didn't let anyone in till 9.15am when it was meant to open at 9am (friday). I emailed them a couple of months ago because i'd brought ticket for the friday and then they put in mag that pippa funnell was there on saturday yet they never changed it on website. I never had a reply. Having said thet i will always go cause i enjoy it so much, the demos this year where outstanding xx

I was really annoyed about this too - You'd also think for £18 you'd get some sort of entry schedule/booklet type thing with at LEAST the list of stands etc -

.... yes and the rest - it depends how big your stall is - Also you have to pay for any more than 2 tickets for people working on the stands (I think it's about £10 a ticket .. a DAY!) I feel like it's a huge money spinner too - and the feeling amongst other stand holders is that it's more aimed towards the demo's now as opposed to the shopping - which it used to be in the days of the Equine Event...
