Hey, my mum said she would get me tickets to a horse show for my birthday but I dont know which one to go to!

I know Your Horse has been going for a while but its a bit of a mission to get to from me (Kent). I know shopping there is meant to be awesome but a girl on my yard said the stuff is quite bargain basement and its hard to get seats? Is this right?

Horse World Live is new so I dont know much about it apart from what they put on facebook and in magazines, they seem to have good names going... do you think it will be good and worth trying? It would be nice to have a demo type show in the south east!

Where are you all going? Thanks

Bella

If you can wait that long, I'd go for Olympia -easy for the South East, and so much bigger than YHL etc.. There is still great shopping but a "proper show" with allocated seats too..

Thanks Honey - I go to Olympia already! Have been for years and love it but wanted to see some demos etc which olympia doesnt really have.

Never been to horse world live. YHL is ok for getting seats in the morning for the main arena, but massive queues in the afternoon so if you're coming from far away you will want to stay in the area the night before to make the most of it. We were able to get seats for the last couple of afternoon events in the smaller arena relatively easily, but not sure what it was like in the peak of early afternoon.
There was loads of shopping, and quite a lot of giveaways (mainly useless stuff but got a few bags of treats, pack of vetwrap etc which isn't that bad considering how cheap it is to get in). There was a much wider range of stuff than you see at HOYS etc., and I wouldn't say bargain basement, but perhaps more stuff at bottom end than HOYS, Olympia etc. as well as the more premium stuff they tend to offer.

If you're local its a good deal for a bit of free stuff and a few interesting demos (geoff billington was fab last year, would have paid our entry for his section alone) but not sure it would be worth paying travel from Kent plus hotel costs for.
