I've never been but quite fancy going. As it is a fair distance from me and would involve an over night stay.

I haven't had a trip out this year because of being ill so I quite fancy a jaunt.

Has anyone been and is it worth it?

YAY!! Its well worth it!! i love it, we are going again this year, staying overnight, its on my birthday and I cant wait!!

I go every year, the shopping is great and the demos are usually fab as well. There aren’t really any demos I’m falling over myself to get to this year (unlike last year!) but that’s just personal taste  Looking forward to it!

Yes, I go every year. Tip -decide at the start of the day which demos you want to see (I think there 3 arenas this year) because it is too easy to spend all your time walking round the stands and missing the demos. There is a good mix of trade stands, not just "shopping" but interesting things too. Good bargains in human clothing, and horse things too, obviously.

Take sandwiches if you can and go to the ladies first thing!

I go every year and it's amazing, go on the last day, and wait until the show starts winding down, the stalls pretty much give you free buckets of food, and do amazing deals, to get rid of there stuff. And it's really good for Christmas shopping, so many stalls :)

I've been a few times as am local, used to really enjoy it but it's just got busier and busier every year. Don't get me wrong, there is masses of good shopping, but be prepared to miss out on a lot of it to stand in queues if you want to see any of the demos. The last time I went, trying to get into the main ring was near on impossible. If you want to see all the demos and make it round all the shopping, I'd advise going for both days.

4th time going for me this year (sunday)only an hour away, agree it gets busier every year but didnt know there was 3 demo areas this year

The queues were awful last time I went and then you got in and found empty seats or worse someone who had set up camp for the day but wasn't bothered about the demo so rustled, chomped and chatted throughout grrrr I spent too much time shushing people.

I think it has gone downhill recently. The shopping is better at at Burghley.

I'm missing it this year due to other stuff going on, but getting twitchy about missing it as I've been to about 5 on the trot now. Got a Gold ticket last year for the first time...well worth it for instant access and guaranteed seats in the main arena. The queues for the big demos are ridiculous now.

I've just won a pair of tickets. It will be the first time that I go. From reading this thread, I am really looking forward to it now.

I'm going again this year. I used to go regularly and then it went downhill with the tradestands being shoddy and the overpriced food/car park. The stewards were pretty bossy too, but things seem to have improved vastly and last year was really enjoyable.
Gold tickets are worth paying extra for as the queues for demo's are huge.
