Oh dear. A horse owner in Newmarket has received complaints because her horses are too noisy. I’m not averse to a grumble myself but this does sound a bit silly - like the owner says, it’s like moving next to a railway and then moaning there are trains…

Perhaps unpopular and I wouldn't complain, however, weaning multiple foals abruptly can mean lots and lots of whinnying. Particularly as it sounds like they are out of sight of the mares but not out of hearing range.

I can understand how if you aren't horsey, it could feel like constant noise.

Luckily my neighbours all love the horses and if they heard lots of neighing, they would text me out of concern rather than contacting the council.

Funny to read this as my ponies shout at me when it’s feed time and I have to wait for the speedibeet to soak (all of ten minutes) and I worried about the neighbours being annoyed. But ponies are going to neigh, and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s not like a dog that can be trained not to bark.
