Anyone going to Your Horse Live this year?
Ive not been for a few years because I found it was very " samey " every year. Same old demos and also not so many bargains and tickets expensive...
However, I need a few things thid year so thinking of going.
Any deals on tickets around?

I'll be going in the Friday as I like a day out, have to say I vastly prefer the National Equine Show at the NEC in March now. Lots more small and different retailers, more like YHL used to be. Having said that I do enjoy the clipping and show prep demos at YHL 🙂

Went last year and was disappointed again !
Been going there since then very beginning 30 odd years and it’s definitely not the same . I won’t ever go again . Just been HOYS , shopping not as good but for your money you get to see a vast range of disciplines.

Yes, thats how I felt so have not been for a couple of years but as I need a couple of things thought I would give it a go.

i was disappointed last year but will be going again this year🤣 i went to the national equine show last year and was disappointed with that too so didn’t go this year, but after seeing everyone saying how good it is i’ll be going next year!

I think the big problem is the lack of diversity in stuff on offer. It's either Le Mieux or Le Mieux. Some smaller brands but nearly all the leggings and base layer stuff with the odd 1/4 zip. I don't want any of that! Ariat bargains would be good or brands like Equetech whose kit I like.

Tickets this year are nearly £30. I may not bother unless I can find a discount which looks unlikely. They used to do a lot of discounts but can not find anything this year.

Yes I thought the same last year, that I wouldn't go again - but now have a new pony and it is a relatively short trip for me, so trying to resist it atm.

Well, I went today and was much smaller than last time I went. Shopping ok and managed to get a good deal on a coat. Didnt watch any displays but it was ok. Tickets pricey for what it is.

I also went today, for a friend's birthday treat. I haven't been since 2019 so can't really remember to compare. I also went on a Saturday last time, so was obviously quieter today which was great as able to have a proper walk around without feeling claustrophobic.
More then enough choice of shops for me, although I'm not a big shopper. Picked up a rug with 40% off, and nearly picked up a race safe body protector for £50! But it was too big 😭

Watched the Lewis Carrier demo. He kept it quite simple and to the basics which was actually quite nice, and I do like the way he rides and trains.
Also watched Jay Halim, I know he does a demo most years and it was similar to previous ones, but entertaining. And Richard Davidson made a guest appearance which was quite fun as the two of them were very sarcastic with each other.
Didn't watch Ben Atkinson as it's not my thing.

Have had a nice day, but certainly don't feel the need to go every year.
I could probably get the same discounts online, especially with black Friday sales coming up.
But have now been measured for a new race safe, so know what size to get, and also had a good chat with the ladies on the Wow saddle stand which was very informative, and have the number of a local saddle fitter (who does other brands, not just wow. So that's helpful)

been today, didn’t break the bank but i picked up a few things - bargain of the day was some lemieux fetlock boots, £15 from £60! best part is they fit both ponies🤣

i think it was ransacked yesterday tbh - lots of my go to brands with good sale racks, but the most common sizes/colours gone etc

From the videos I’ve seen the demo area looks so quiet

Used to love the equine event and the first few years of YHL so much

I’ve seen some great demos there, mounted police showing how they train their horses. Carl Hester. William & Pippa Funnell

Now it seems that it’s very similar demos every year and the same people doing them

Went on Friday Much smaller than last year and the choice wasn't anywhere near as good. Lots of the stands were smaller and even the Lemieux had nowhere near the choice of stock as previous years. I do think if they aren't careful they will price themselves out, especially with the Equine Show being on. We got there for 10.30 and were done by 3pm.

Yes, I agree 100%
