So does my horse need a vit supplement, if so please recommend one please!
He is a showjumper, active lifestyle, gets a lot of quality hayledge in the night and is stabled, fed once a day with mollichaff, half scoop of pony nuts and half cooling mix. Has been on vit supplement but i don't know if he really needs it?

:o

I think they have there place, for example i fed my horse the codliven generl purpose supplement as he used to get a flakey coat, he was obviously lacking something. If your horse is not laking in anything looks well ect i wouldnt bother as its not worth paying a fortune if its not going to gain anything from it.

They can be useful. I have had mine on a vit supplement at times. But i think if good grazing and haylage/hay is available and the horse is fed right for the activity it does then they shouldnt be needed. However if you do want to feed one it certainly wouldnt do any harm :)

Agree apart from the it won't do any harm bit.. it could do some harm. Overdosing on vits/mins can cause imbalances and in my case liver toxicity and I was feeding F4F supposedly good for lamis. Not so.
