Will link you to some FB pics as I'd feel bad for posting their photos online without permission!

Personally totally scares me that horsemanship has turned into showmanship so much so that this is accepted as "cool" and "inspiring". I find it scary, dangerous and unthoughtful.. What are your opinions?

the first one is stupid and i reckon the second is photoshopped cs why would you do that?

Second isn't photoshopped, there's another picture of them "training" to do it too. Essentially the same thing, but at home.

Makes me cringe just to think of the "what ifs"

*wonders how many people will chip in on this thread with memories of their own foolish youth jumping over friends lying on the floor* :p

The one with the people doesn't bother me particularly, although you wouldn't catch me doing it. The one with the other horse does; two animals doubles the risk, and I particularly don't like the very small space the horse on the ground is in; lots of risk factors to both horses and both humans, and much more potential for things to go wrong.

I've done plenty of dangerous things whilst riding as a kid, but never quite to this extent :')

Haven't we all, when my late friend and I were about 10 we used to canter up the tow path and jump the lock gates on our ponies. Forty years on I would be worried to even walk up a tow path on a horse !

As for the pictures, blooming stupid in my view.
