I have been battling with my horses weight since I got her about 18 months ago. She was so fat when we got her, to give you an idea she has gone from being in an XW cob saddle to being in a MW saddle now.

Anyway, I finally think she is starting to look about right, I know she needs to lose a little more, and really I want her to come out of winter a bit lighter, but could I please have opinions on how she is doing??

This was her today

She isn't totally fit right now, she fractured her pedal bone in June and she has been back in work about 6 weeks now, so there is still a way to go so hopefully she will tone up a bit more with that.

Thanks :)

She's still a bit fat, but she's better than many I've seen!

Just to give you a little bit of comfort, when we got our fell she was morbidly obese. It's taken a good 3 years to finally slim her down to a healthy weight. It takes a long time and a lot of determination to shift those pounds! Well done!

Thank you all so much :)

I unfortunately have no pics of her when I first got her, but this was her after about 9 months, so you can imagine how large she was at first! :o :o :o

She looks really good, well done for getting so much weight off her. She only needs to be a little bit slimmer to be perfect so you are doing a really good job, I hope you have a great year with her, she looks lovely :)

Cheiro I think that's a current good weight, she may lose a bit more as the long winter goes on anyway. Like you say a little bit more to go and then you don't have a battle with loads going on come the spring grass and more turnout, etc.

She's the most fantastic colour under her clip too!
