Looks young (a bit leggy like he has some more growing/filling out to do)
Lovely colour.
Lovely trot as well.
May just be the pic, but looks quite green at canter like hes 'finding his legs', adding to my hunch hes a baby.
Is he? (a baby that is?)
Looks a nice type about 3 1/2 yr old and been backed a few days , with work and natrual growth and musle will turn out nice. i would think he will get a lot lighter in his colouring as well.
Probably make a fool of myself, but who cares! He looks like a baby and not broken in very long. He's IDx? Daddy is probably someone very famous like Cruising ???? Go on, tell me 's an Andi and hes 22 tomorrow!
I'd say 4 yr old ISH, probably Cruising or Spring Diamond lines. A nice horse. Would not look at him for pure dressage (he's not really showing much push from the hind leg in those photos, especially the trot one) but looks like he could make a decent eventer or show jumper if he jumps. Big head but neck seems well set on.
Horse is Charlie (he named himself as he was a right Charlie as a foal!) His siblings are Sally and Woodstock (who doesn't look anything like his namesake!) He's 3 and a bit (born March 2006)
He's by my big RID stallion Lady's Tralee Raj - out of a chestnut hunter mare Katie (who is by Carmel Head (IRE) out of an unpapered 'irish' mare. Katie is a 16.3 MW - and a HELL of a jumper - if slightly lacking in brakes! I suspect Katie's dam was at least half TB.
Charlie was THE most laidback foal I've ever had - the only time he EVER played up was when a friend was using my horses for behavioural research and - as part of the trial they were doing - he was first required to stand, held, in the corner of the stable away from the door - but the handler was not allowed to talk to him or pat him! He went BESERK - he was sure something DREADFUL was about to happen!! So we SHOULD have anticipated that backing him would be 'interesting'!
He was a gem through the early stages - until we got to the bit where the rider sat up and was led forward (by me)! I ended up on the floor first - followed smartly by the rider!
Normally we would then try sending him straight out on the lunge - the theory (and it works in practice) being that if they can run - they don't usually buck! But given he's 17hh, the likelihood was I wouldn't have been able to hold him so we went immediately to Plan C. That was one week ago - and it worked. Hasn't bucked since!

You could miss a gem if you rely on 3 photos - particularly where the rider is sitting VERY quiet and doing bu**er all for fear of being catapulted into space!
I'm sure he WILL jump but I'm not sure he's clever enough to be a top showjumper - and he might be a bit TOO laidback to event to high level. Having seen a lot more of his movement than 3 photos, I'd bet on a dressage career at present - but it's early days.
He starts hacking next week - and that's all he'll do for a couple of months because he is still VERY gangly. But he's surprisingly well balanced for such a big baby - always strikes off on the correct lead and virtually never goes disunited. Time will tell what the future holds for him.
he looks like a gangly baby just backed to me.
nice type-ID im guessing lol.
his canter looks very nice.im sure his trot will develop more under saddle.

however I bet he might be a stubbon little buggar when he wants....he's go that look lol....which reminds me of my lad
and the same action too

I'd take your bet
I don't think he's likely to be at ALL stubborn. If he 'sticks' it will be because he's frightened - or because he doesn't understand (he's not that bright!
