heya went to towerlands to day and jumped my 14.2 pony in the 80 unaff and won so was well chuffed
. by the time i got to jump my mare in the 90Q there was a bit of a wind so was a bit happier. when i warmed her up she was normal in her self and working well but every now and then ( it was random not on one rein ect) she kept almorst forgetting to put her back leg down and as a result lost her back end,
she didnt seem to care and did it in walk/trot & canter. so i trotted her up for my friends and they said she was sound...i got back on as she was just as forward so though i'd pop a few jumps & if she felt ok id jump. so did two x poles really nicely
popped an unpright & a spread, she felt her normal self (i've owned her 4/5 years!) then second time to the oxer she stopped and stood bolt upright
( i bought her as a rearer & she hasnt reared like that for about 2 years) so i thought humm ok she's not right but ive got to jump it again and she stopped followed by more massive waves to everybody so she got told of and jumped but she didnt jump right she just wasnt her self. 90 cms is quite small for us
and normally jump alot bigger i went in the ring and thought right im just going to go round if shes not right after number two i'll retire coz she always jumps spot on in the ring, i got to jump three and retired she was as backwards as they come almost cantering backwards into a fence it was horrible
so i pulled out the 1m & came home. she is sound as they come no swelling or heat and is quite happy, all i can think is her back might be out, its just so unlike her in every way im a bit gutted as hoping to take her to RIHS but now i cant even get round a 90!
anybody ever had a similar thing? back or something else? should i give her a week off before back lady can come or keep her in light work...( she wont rear at home- thats just her way of saying mum that hurts she did the same when she pulled extensior tendon and was still 9/10 sound then - i had to tell the vet she wasnt quite right!) horses are so bloody fustrating good is always followed by bad
