You're going to think I'm mad but here goes ;-)

Sorry I just have to post this but my best friend had her pony put to sleep a month ago. She was 37 when she was put down and a naughty little minx ) right up to the end but god did we all love her xx

Anyway to get to the point, her whole life when ridden she would always spook at pheasants, since she's been gone every afternoon a pheasant has turned up in her field, nowhere else just in what was her bit and without fail it's there.

So and this is the mad bit, I think zilly with her sense of humour has come back as a pheasant! Now I sound nuts ;-)) it makes me and friend feel happier though so what's the harm xx

I think its lovely, I also think she was a lucky pony to have had such a wonderful life. RIP Zilly, I guess you're no longer afraid of pheasants.

No you are definately NOT nuts. This sort of thing happens all the time. In Nov 09 my oh's horse was PTS,last autumn he was stood on the gate to reach something, in preparation for our new purchase,a couple of weanlings arriving,when he was met with a loud snort/blow. Exactly what his mare used to do. He looked round quickly,of course,thinking someone was hacking past on the lane and he'd startled their horse,but there was no one there. We have both heard a snort/blow a couple of times since ,just after the weanlings arrived. We believe his mare is looking after them.
