I just had to post, as it was so funny!!!
My last lot today was a fairly fresh 3yr old, who has only just come back into work after a week or two off (so still half fit).. Anyway, plan today was to start some long slow canter work in the sand ring.. They start with 2x2s times round, and work up over time to 3x7s times round.. (with one walk circuit inbetween)..
Today was 3x3s times round, we'd done 2x3s and he'd been ok, although strangley he was quieter on the first lot of 3 than he was on the second, where he put in a few small bucks and shot off a bit, however i was out the back of a string of 11, so no one really noticed..
Untill we get to the last lot of 3, when head-lad says to change direction, so i'm now second from the front, with a school-master as the lead horse.. we'd already cantered 2 circuits in a very calm/manerly way, when suddenly he decided that life was far to boring, so to spice things up a bit he'd try out this proper bucking lark.. He put in 3 belters!! I mean they were huge, and in doing to ke also kicked the white plastic railing, which obviously made a loud noise.. so while he's doing this, all i'm thinking about is stopping him and obviously staying on.. only to get the shout "man down" but it wasn't only one, it was FIVE.. I made 5 people fall off today, and they were all very experienced riders..
When we got back to the tackroom, everyone was laughing so much about it..
Obviously when my horse kicked the railing, it frightened the one behind it, who whipped round, causing the one behind it to do the same, and so on..
That surely would have made £250 on "you've been framed" if someone had cought it on camera!!
