Zangersheide Open Days

The World famous Zangersheide stud in Lanaken, Belgium, have announced their dates for the 2008 Open Days. They will be the 16th and 17th of February.

For those of you interested in breeding or want to breed in the future there is a world of learning that can be done in one place.

From the stud farm that brought such greats as Ratina Z, and have owned Almé Z, Ramiro Z and Carthago Z, we present to you the finals of the Z stallion approvals as well as tours of the insemination centre and facilities, as well the opportunity to meet the famous Z stallions "up close and personal". The Stallion parade is rather special.

I thought I'd put everything on the post but it got cut off.

Airports - closest is Maastricht/Aachen, the Dusseldorf (45 mins) or Cologne (45 mins), then Brussels (1h30).

Eurostar - are doing £100 return deals at the moment.

Car - ferries are cheap at the moment, Lanaken is about three hours drive from calais.

Car share - there are a number of people going already so let me know if you need a space.

This sounds great - I love these horses - my daughter has ridden a couple of the Z horses, her friend has one and I see quite a lot of them in my BSJA judging capacity.

In fact the best horse (the grey shown in my avatar) that my daughter has ever ridden came from this stud - she was amazing.

I may come - I live near Folkestone, so no drive on this side of the water for me, and probably about 3 hours on the other side of the channel, so feasible.
