Anyone else use these?

I use them on both my horses and have done for some time, these are non-slip saddle-pads which have got a kind of rubber bubbly material on the back which is non-slip and is also supposed to "massage" the horse as you ride, BUT lately I have noticed that on both my horses they've got some rubbing/bare patches on them.

Does anyone else use these? They're supposed to be used a lot by endurance riders - and I'm wondering tho' whether anyone else has had this sort of thing happen?

I'm going to have to find alternative saddle-pads/numnah's now - so any suggestions??

Hi. I don't know anything about the Zilco pads, although I have heard of them. As an alternative non slip pad I use the Barnsby Grip Pad, they work really well and I haven't had any problems with them.

I don't like non-slip pads at all, I think they are harsh on the coat and skin, but ultimately if you have rubbing problems then it is likely to be down to less than perfect saddle fit. A well fitting saddle on a healthy back should only need a thin cotton pad, or sheepskin/wool especially for sensitive skin, or a shim pad if you have a damaged back that is recovering.
