I took Zoom for her first hunter trial today at Pachesham. The ground was quite slippy but not as bad as I thought it would be. We did the pairs and the 70cm. The pairs was a fab warm up, I stuck behind my friend Tedster and we flew round. Unfortunately I got a bit behind on the dressing fence and we got penalised otherwise we would have come 4th.
Zoom was a bit excited and was putting in some very amusing jumps including this 'get really close and then catleap' Photos: (click forward for more)

Then we did the individual 70cm. It was awesome!!
We went clear and Zoom was loving it, looking for the next jump. We went quite slowly due to the ground and were actually the slowest of the clear rounds..............but still clear. We ended up 14th out of 29, very respectable for our first go! We did the steps, sunken road and water and she didn't even hesitate.
Not much better the second time round but at least we are smiling! (click for more)

All in all a brilliant day! I am SOOOOO pleased with my little one-eyed donkey. She is super awesome! Mild cc welcome but bear in mind I know we're crap so want to enjoy the moment a bit. I know I need to give with my hands more but to be honest I was crapping myself a bit and she was living up to her name!
