I headed to Aylesbury on Sunday for a show organised by Darkley_Dreaming_Dex.
We have had a couple of disasters recently at HTs and I think Zoom was getting a bit fed up with all the pressure
We have only done 2 rounds of SJing before....I get really nervous!!! For some reason we can both manage big solid cross country fences but SJs give me the wobbles
Anyhoo, I got to the field at 5am
to plait Zoomy as we were entering the turnout class. We came 2nd!!!!
All my bathing was worth it
AND there were more than two people in the class! (well only 4 but still......).
On to the 2'3 jumping. I was very nervous but Zoom was raring to go. She is finally getting the idea!!! She was quite strong and a bit all over the place. I have a video which I'll upload later. We got round with just one jump down.
Zoom being strong:

Had this one down:

There was only one clear round so we had to jump off for 2nd place. Rode like a pleb and had 2 down but still came third since only 2 of us were on 4 faults:

We then met the lovely FarrierLover from HHO and her lovely horses. She had a doggie so we did the Horse and Hound class. Zoom loved it!!!
the jumps were in a circle and after FarrierLover and her wonderful terrier went round really quickly Zoom and I jumped round for 5th place

We then did the scurry which was only 1'9 (bit shameful but hey ho!). Zoom thought all this galloping as fast as she could over jumps was the most fun EVER! We actually won!! I told D_D_D that I was happy to just have a clear round rosette since there was only one other person out of school uniform but she said we won fair and square so we got a lovely red rosette
My friend's pony was being hideous so she took Zoom in the clear round. She actually took a whole jump wing down with her foot - she doesn't ride Zoom often and forgot she has one eye!:

She also took her in the veteran jumping (combination of horse and rider to be over 35!!).
We finished the day off with the adult gymkhana. It was hilarious! I have literally never had so much fun on horseback. We did the bending, walk trot and ride and lead races. We came 2nd in each one
My friend then did the sack race on Zoom which was very funny

We went home with everyone on 2 and 4 legs with huge grins!! It was really good for Zoom to go out and have some fun......and it really raised my confidence over coloured poles
I'd like to say a big thank you to Darkly_Dreaming_Dex and all the volunteers for a lovely day out. I didn't have a pony when I was young or did pony club etc so this was my first real experience of a proper family show and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Cookies if you read all the waffle. More pics and vid to come!
