    Worcester horse sales

This was a few years ago and she was too straight off the boat! I think there’s always a few absolute diamonds at the sales if you’re willing to take a chance!

    Worcester horse sales

I think anyone buying from sales needs to be ready to handle all the possibilities of what they might get, I actually spoke to someone at Brecon who was looking at the cob I took for someone and she was after a pony for the grand kids. I explained what green ment, we shook hands and despite her...

I just saw the mare on market watch. What a bloody shame. But people have no shame. Breaks my heart but I can’t have a mare. 😭 Can’t see the prices on the link but I may be being thick.

What’s meant by ‘best of homes only’ on sales ads?

Don’t even! I saw one the other day, £1500, shettie youngster, thinks it’s broken as child was on it when they viewed. Playing so roughly with the horse it’s meant to be companion for its needed ABs 🙃. Don’t get me wrong a good child’s Shetland is work £££, but a certified pain in the arse? To...

    Worcester horse sales

We took a cob made to Brecon a few years ago simply for a hassle free sale. She was green but straightforward, 14 and a nice sort. She had a lovely day out and seemed nice people. After selling my big lad last year, offering all the viewings, month long trials (he went on two, came back from...

    General anaesthetic worries.

My colt had colic surgery last August and had no GA complications despite being exhausted by that point! he recovered very well from his ordeal! I had a TB go under for KS surgery and he also coped admirably despite being a bit hysterical in everyday life. He would colic from being worked etc...

If you soak hay, roughly how long do you soak it for?

With the current hay situation obviously having to be a little less fussy about hay! If it was dusty I’d rinse it through but I hate soaking hay 😅 I ordered a pallet of small bale haylage so if I can’t get good hay he can just have that, and whilst the hay is good I feed one net of each!

Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

Me too. Working for my £25 a week livery.. somehow for a few years a worked both weekend days and a few days after school got to go hunting if you helped with the yard that day as well. Years before I got brave enough to ask to get paid actual money for the other days. Mum was very much it’s...

Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

I love these posts. I work in insurance and if people don’t think that insurance companies aren’t all over social media like a rash when needed 🫠😂 also does it not occur to them that in the paperwork the vet will give the history… so they’ll have paid a premium and still not be covered, and...

Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

It’s such a shame as I dream of finding an actual opportunity! But 1/3 an acre for 20 hours? They’re laughing and sadly someone will be taken advantage of. The amount of times we’ve enquired about stuff and ended up in crazy town!! Can I ask what group you’re in? (Feel free to ignore but always...

Cheeky/ridiculous posts you see on Facebook.

Hasn’t quite gone how they thought it would in the replies. Most people have pointed out they’re looking for a freelance groom… which considering how well the previous pay to take care of someone’s youngster went on the same group? 😂😂

    Proud flesh… prevention?

Copper sulphate! Great stuff one now got a 2kg tub but wasn’t too expensive, mixed to a paste with Vaseline! Horsey is sold but honestly the scar wasn’t as bad as it could have been and the copper got rid of the proud flesh a treat!

Saw an advert the other day for a part loan, for a 2 year old!! Must pay towards keep and trim every 6 weeks, looking for a loaner to do ground work, cover jobs their days, and pay money. Specified wouldn’t be breaking in for a few years, but when the time comes the loaner can back it! What...
