    Vets prescription charges

I was charged £25.00 last week for video appojntment with vet to look at our dog so I could have a repeat prescription, as it was 6months since he had been to vets. The actual meds were then different prices.

Signs you were a horsey kid in the 1960's/1970's

The petrol crisis, journeys made by pony or pony and trap instead of car. The show at White City, my first trip to a large show. Riding without stirrups at Pony club rallies, which we hacked for miles to get to. Our first pony bought by mother at Wrexham sales travelled on a goods train and...

AA what a horrendous week, success at the show and then to find a frightening injury. As you say, thats horses there is always the unexpected round the corner. Good news that she is home and making progress, all her HH fans will be sending healing vibes and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Happy Birthday Ted, you are a very lucky horse, good friends and an understanding owner. I can not believe it is 7+ years that you have entertained us with your humor through good and bad times. Here's to the next 7, may they be happy and filled with fun that you can share 😀

He is looking very handsome, has Alice not told him you have to learn to go without and work hard to achieve perfection?

    Finally!!

They are fun and good field 'guards', seeing the geese wings outstretched chase unwanted visitors straying from NT land next door is great fun! Ours have been known to chase the horses but generally they seem to ignore each other and get on with the serious business of eating.

    Finally!!

Get some geese! They love to pull the buttercups and roots for you, our damp field was full of them but the geese have sorted them for us without the need to spray

    Best Trees for Shade?

Trees are so complicated with all the different ones that can have negatives for equines. I am in stonewall country and find Rowan and Hawthorne and holly grow well, with some rubosa roses which grow faster as an underplanting, the hips benefit the wildlife. Some willows grow fast if you have...

Ted is very lucky, hope he feels cooler now. I suggest iced chocolate by the pint for his owner to help with revival.

Great photo, a heart stopping moment, what a good boy to stand calmly. One of ours used to squeeze between the tape and the wall, the tape was there to stop the public leaning on the stone walls and then they collapse. I was so worried first time he did it I thought he was stuck, till it...

Great humorous report as usual AA, considering where he started it is a credit to you all that Ted works with exuberance, well done to the rider who kept control!

    Angry Border Terrier

Our Border Collie can be very aggressive to other dogs when on a lead but is fine off the lead. He is a rescue and was bullied as a pup so we know the reason. As we do not have a reliable recall our dog has to be walked on a lead away from home. We have found that leaving the lead slack and...
