    anyone recommend an instructor?

A few of us have been having lessons over the weekends by a lady from near Liskeard and she's very sympathetic to your needs. My confidence has come on leaps and bounds since having her, so much so that I even had a lesson in all that wind and rain the other day!

    another new rug

I've just been alerted to this post by someone wanting to know if it was me you are discussing I have told them that I left a while ago and only hope that this uncalled for post isn't brought to the attention of said livery. I'm sure you would be upset if she came on here slagging YOU off...

    chewing the bit.

I forgot to mention that it also has a curved mouthpiece and I've just found information that says this encourages the horse to chew. Mind you, I don't understand why it would need to do this.

    chewing the bit.

Not actually sure if shes grinding her teeth tbh. She didn't do it with her last bit.

Well, she seems happy when she does it.

    chewing the bit.

I have just googled this and I'm getting conflicting advice. I have just changed bits to a sweet iron D-ring snaffle (well, we think its a sweet iron as the mouthpiece is black but please correct me if I may be wrong). Anyway, since using it I can sometimes hear my horse chewing it. She is...

    Bit sizes

Do some bit sizes differ according to what sort they are? It's just that my French link eggburt snaffle seems longer than my jointed eggburt snaffle but is the same size. The French link seems to lie to one side of the mouth more and so the link isn't in the middle and it looks too big. Any ideas?

    Black Cob Mare - Gypsy

I'll go with Peggy or Rosie Lee. My present black cob is Peggy and I had a gypsy cob called Rosie Lee, although she was coloured. Failing that, how about Della!

    Numptys

At my old livery yard we were referred to as Numptys by another yard but our horses were happy and so were we and we ended up calling ourselves the Numpty yard and laughingly took the mick out of each other when we did something not quite right in their books. I quite agree that, unless you've...

    Caledonian Adjustable Saddles

Is that the synthetic saddle? If it is I bought one for my pony cob but it just looked silly on her for some reason. Apart from that I think it would have been fine as it was really comfy and looked just like real leather. Maybe they look better on bigger horses.

    clippers for legs?? help

We have just clipped my cobs legs with Liveryman Element trimmers and they coped well after cutting the bulk of the hair off with scissors. We bought these lightweight, low noise trimmers as my horse didn't like her legs done with the heavy clippers but I must admit she still wasn't that keen
