    TB's and rugs!

Mine is out naked and in at night without rug. He gets too hot in any rug as being a few days short of 4 he plays about in the field. I find they keep themselves warm once they are used to going naked. Also, there is a little grass now which seems to help.

    Ex-racehorses

He was given to us and we thought (obviously wrongly) that he would be able to be given some light work this year.

    Ex-racehorses

Has anybody had an ex-racehorse that has not raced that proved too backward to ride at rising 4 years? We have a gelding who is 4 in April who has been away for re-schooling and is coming back as he is too immature to ride. He was turned away last October for 4 months and another year is...

    Rugs

Can anyone recommend a good turnout rug that will withstand horses' teeth! To explain in brief, we have a 3 yr old TB who is resting before going off for reschooling and is turned out. He is playful as any 3 yr old is but not naughty and his rugs are getting ripped to shreds by another horse in...

How long have you been at your yard?

Almost 18 years. Went there when children were 9 and 6 with a 12'2" pony and stayed through 2/3 and even 4 ponies once. Now just a new 3 year old who will hopefully event with my eldest daughter. It not that its so good but have never found anywhere better!!!

    numpty foal questions

I would certainly feed him a good quality feed suitable for his age, but I would telephone one of the feed companies and speak to their nutritionist. I have a 3 year old who came out of racing as he was too immature for racing and I spoke to Baileys and their recommended feeding has made a huge...

Tongue over bit - bit recommendations?

You may need to try something with more room for his tongue. His tongue may be getting squashed and he has quite a big mouth if a 6.5! I'm a bit out of touch with what is dressage legal now but i would suggest a thin french link or if thats not strong enough try a bit bank and experiment with...

Anyone know of any Horsebox Repair specialists???

There is a horsebox repairer in Newmarket called I think Gazeley Horseboxes or something like that. Can't comment on their affordability but you could ask them for a quote. I should think they've got a website.

    HELLO - HELP PLEASE

Sounds like windgalls but hard to diagnose without seeing the horse. Rest for a bit and if no improvement, ask vet to take a look.

    RECOMMEND me a Trailer please!

I would recommend an Ifor Williams HB510 if you have no towing weight restrictions. They are the best in my opinion, solidly built and even the older ones are good. Check the floor of anything you buy and also the ramps. If you are in any way doubtful walk away. They are not cheap but are...

    Joint Supplements - Which one?

No good supplement is cheap unfortunately. Unless he really needs one you would probably be better off spending the money on good quality feed and add some vegatable oil.
