Hi
I'm new to this forum and was hoping for a little advice.

Whats a good joint supplement? I have a MW cob who I would like to give one to and not sure which is the most effective for little cost.

any advice, greatly appreciated.

After extensive research i chose arthriaid powder from nutriscience. £37 for two months supply. It has all the ingredients needed at the right amounts so you are not wasting your money on subtherapeutic doses or fillers.
You need to check labels carefully, many have insufficient active ingredients. Glucosamine HCL is better than glucosamine sulphate and glucosamine HCL with chondroitin sulphate is better than glucosamine on its own. The addition of MSM, Hyaluronic acid (HA) and vitamin c is also a bonus!

No good supplement is cheap unfortunately. Unless he really needs one you would probably be better off spending the money on good quality feed and add some vegatable oil.

If you are not wanting to spend huge amounts you could start off by feeding cod liver oil and glucosamine, I have fed this to my veteran and it helped a lot with him when he was stabled.
However if you are wanting to feed an actual branded supplement I know several people who swear by cortaflex or NAF superflex.

I use Mobifor for my mare, who was diagnosed with spavin 5 years ago. She is 24 this year and sound as a pound. You can get it from Hyperdrug for about £50 for 2 litres which will last you about 10 weeks.
